2022 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr was the third Ramadan and Eid during Covid-19 pandemic. However, this year Ramadan and Eid might be different from the previous two during pandemic, since some restrictions and traveling banned were not applied this time. People’s behavior and tradition might be more similar to the Ramadan and Eid behavior and tradition before the pandemic. 2021 Beauty Trends – JAKPAT Survey Report

JAKPAT Beauty Trends Report 2020 showed that the use of cosmetic products during the pandemic has decreased. This year, JAKPAT is trying to conduct a survey again to capture the trends in 2021. Along with the decline in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia and the increase in vaccinations, people’s mobility is slowly returning to normal. In other words, beauty trends will also change from last year.

In this survey, JAKPAT also tried to capture the trend of using skincare for men. Many brands are currently campaigning for the importance of skincare for men. Through this 2021 beauty trend survey, JAKPAT tries to present it for you.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected a lot in the macro and micro-step of health and economy throughout the world. The last August, Indonesia Finance minister, Sri Mulyani, stated that Indonesia’s economy is negative 5,32% in the 2nd quartal of 2020. Based on the JAKPAT survey (Jobs & Career During Pandemic),  about 50% of respondents are worrying about their financial condition.

Outside the economy, the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is showing increasing. There has been a controversy between financial or health recovering. Through this survey, JAKPAT tries to looking for respondents’ opinions about which field needs to be recovered first.

Beauty Trend 2020 – JAKPAT Survey Report

In 2020, various industrial sectors in the world are experiencing a crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the beauty industry. Makeup products, in particular, have reportedly experienced a decrease in purchase due to COVID-19. The regulation of “stay at home“ means that women rarely use makeup. Meanwhile, skincare products have allegedly increased due to the changing beauty trends during the COVID-19 pandemic where people pay more attention to skin health in depth.

To understand this condition, JAKPAT creates a survey of 1.119 female respondents nationwide, aimed to capture respondents’ behavior toward beauty products during the COVID-19 pandemic and their preference toward beauty products, brand, as well as style, also their buying behavior. Moreover, we also provide a map of makeup brands’ ranking for each category based on the actual makeup brand which currently used by the respondents. By understanding this ranking, we can see a clear picture of the competition between local and global makeup brands as it is shown in our respondent’s actual usage.
